Paper Odyssey
OSA Asian Birthday Contest!
Submit your Art to arrive not later than February 26!
We invite you to participate in our OSA Birthday Contest! First of all, why would we have a Birthday Contest now? Well, the 27th of February happens to be Sara’s Birthday! (We’re not saying which birthday, though I daresay there are a few people on the list who know!.) This contest will be on the OSA List only. (There may be other contests sponsored on other lists or concurrently, but this one is just for OSA!)
What to Submit: We don’t want to limit you to cards, so if you’d like to expand on that, please do. Try Bookmarks, Magnets, Picture Frames, Mini-Booklets, Cards, or . . . whatever you dream up! Just be sure to include at least a little birthday wish with your entry. If you have any Paper Odyssey products, it would be wonderful if you include at least one in your art. (If you do, please tell us what you’ve used on the back of the item.) If you don’t happen to have any Paper Odyssey merchandise, this will give you an opportunity to get to know what cool things we have!
What Category am I In: Beginners, Intermediates, Experienced, and Professional artists are all welcome. Put yourself in the correct category. We are creating a "level playing field" for all here by having the 4 groups. If you teach classes, you are considered to be in the Professional Category. If you are a vendor, you may certainly enter—in fact we welcome you--but please put yourself in the correct category, which would probably be Experienced or Professional. Everyone is welcome!
What to Add: Put your name, e-mail address, OSA LIST, and postal mailing address on the back of your art, or attach that information somehow (attaching it with fiber to a mail art tag would work). Please also identify the source of the rubber stamps you used in the project. Items submitted may become separated from the envelopes they arrived in, so make sure all your important information is on your art. It would be great if you put OSA Birthday Contest and your level (i.e. Intermediate) on the envelope—that will help me be sure it gets in the right place!
Number of Submissions: There are no limits on the number of items you may submit.
Submission Date: You may mail your art anytime you like. However, it MUST be received not later than February 26, 2009. Feel free to submit your art earlier!
When is Judging. And WHO? Art will be judged on February 27, and we will announce the winners on the 28th. I have a sister Barbara who lives in Ontario, Canada, and she is planning a trip to be here over my birthday. So I’m asking her to help me judge. She is not a stamper but is a lover of art, so I think that will be a great addition
What Will Happen to My Art: We anticipate posting the art on our web site. The art will not be returned, and it will become the property of Paper Odyssey. We may use your art in our store, on our web site, at conventions, or . . . who knows???
What Do I Get Out of This Contest? The joy of creation, of course, as well as the opportunity to win a neat stamping prize! And then there's fame, too!
• Grand Prize: (1 Prize) A $50 gift certificate from Paper Odyssey
• First Prize: (4 Prizes) $25 gift certificate. One First Prize will be offered in each category: Professional, Experienced, Intermediate, and Beginner.
• Honorable Mention: (10 Prizes) Ten entries will receive an Honorable Mention Prize (These will be selected from all categories).
