International members should email the hostess: International Postal Coupons, cash via Paypal, stamping goodies, ephemera… something will be worked out.

Remember to write the name of the swap on BOTH envelopes; the one you send your swaps in and the SASE.

OSA's Elite Vendors (EV's) will be sponsoring these swaps using one or more of the following methods:
They will donate images, offer discounts on images/ephemera germane to particular swaps and/or by offering prizes for the contests.

CALL FOR ART SWAPS

Send art for as many 'calls' as you wish, all unique and no duplicates. Annette will send the art as a group from OSA to the specific magazines with an article.

Your art will not be returned unless you send it with a SASE with your art inside.

LIST SWAPS

OSA 1-4-1
Hosted by Kate P.

What is a 1-4-1 swap you may ask? Well, you send a card ... you receive a card. You may send as many as you like, or as often as you like. You will pick the people off of the "1-4-1" swap list. The recipient has two months to send a card back to you. Or someone may choose you, and then you have two months to reply to that person.

Kate P. in Australia is list keeper for the 1-4-1 swap. Join the list for addresses.

OSA ACE (Asian Card Exchange)
Hosted by Ruth Cooper, Sharon B. Co-Moderator
ACE 4, ACE 5, ACE 6
, ACE 7, ACE 8, ACE 9

Based on a list of people who sign up for the round (we're currently on ACE 9, which runs through November 2008), you send a card to the three people beneath your name the first month. The second month, you send cards to the three people below that; then the third, to the next three people, etc. ACE can run up to nine months or more, depending on how many people sign up.

OSA Deco
Hosted by
Co-hosted by Tina Sh.

Decos...are you interested in swapping deco books (with an Asian flair off course)? Then join the OSA DecoGroup. There are currently 37 OSA members who have been swapping decos now for about 8 months. We have our own little Yahoo group and we are looking for 15 new members to join us!

What are deco books you say?

Decos, or friendship books as they are sometimes called, are little books you make consisting of up to 10 pages. These are then sent to other people to fill up with great art. When the book is filled, it comes back home to you. The books are small, usually no bigger than 4x6. The books are kept small so that they are easy to mail.

Here is a great link that describes deco books in more detail: http://www.lisavollrath.com/articles/

Within the OSADeco Yahoo group there is a database of all the members. The Deco Group is private so only members of the group can see the information. When you want to send out a deco, just pick someone from the database, just like the RAK list. You can send out more than one book if you wish. This swap is basically an unstructured round robin. There is no formal schedule as to when you must send out a book, so there is no time table for when you may get your book back. Part of
what determines how soon your book comes back home is how many pages you put in your deco book. There is no ending date to this swap. You can withdraw from the group at any time.

One thing to think about before joining...this is a very unstructured group. Most of the time we do not even know where our books are or who is currently working on them. If this aspect of the swap makes you uneasy, the deco swap may not be right for you. But, part of the fun of deco swapping is that surprise you get, when one day your book shows up in your mailbox! And many of our books are now starting to make their way home, and they are wonderful!

If you are interested in joining or have any questions, see the group here.

OSA Mystery Swap
Barbara N., Moderator
Kavi C., Co-Moderator

Shhhh! It's a secret. Join and send cards and goodies for three months incognito and only reveal yourself at the end of the 3-month swap.

Sign up for 3 months at a time. Jan-Feb-March, April-May-June, July-Aug-Sept., Oct-Nov-Dec 2008.

You will be given the name and address of an OSA Stamper who has also signed
up for this swap.

You will send something once each month by the 20th to your assignee. It can be a card, leftover charms from a swap, an um(s) or anything else you think your assignee would like to receive. Aim to get your item in the mail by the third week. I would like to recommend adding a few words about your piece each month. That might be something about the inks, papers, embossing powder or perhaps what inspired the piece such as a poem, trip, or conversation.

There is no dollar limit, but please don't go overboard and overwhelm. This swap is meant to be clandestine in nature and fun when your Mystery Stamper is revealed at the end of the three-month interim.

Please notify me when you have sent an item each month so I can keep a tally.

I hope you will try this swap. Swap is open to all members of OSA.To learn more about the OSAMysterySwap group, please visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OSAMysterySwap

If you are interested in this swap send me your email address for an invitation to join at barbaran@orientalstampart.com. This an OSA sponsored group, for OSA members.

In the Monthly Oriental Stamp Art Swap (currently on MOSAS21), you are grouped with 2 or 3 other people for the 3-month duration of the swap. Each month, you send a project (card, tin, wall hanging, magnet--whatever you can think of!) to the three other members of your group. Participation in MOSAS demands your highest level of work--no matter whether you're a beginner or a seasoned veteran stamper.

For information on this or future rounds, please contact Donna or Sonia.
